This year, math is a big focus at our school. Math tubs allow students to practice what they have learned with a hands-on, independent approach. Last week, we were focusing on the "teen numbers" (11-15). After a minilesson, students had the opportunity to make sets of these bigger numbers with the manipulatives in their math tubs. Students have a different math tub each day, so they have the opportunity to use many different materials in many different ways. Here are some of the students making sets of 11 and 12.
