In language arts, we learned more about the digraphs: ch, sh and th. Learning about these digraphs, we were introduced to 3 brothers to help us remember the sounds. "Charlie" wants to be a train conductor, so he walks around making the train sound: ch, ch, ch. "Shane" does not like the noise that his brothers make, so he tells everyone to: sh, sh, sh. Finally, Theodore is the bad brother and sticks his tongue out and tells everyone: th, th, th. We also continued to read stories and discussed characters and setting.
In math, we learned all about temperature. We examined various thermometers and discussed what they were used for. We learned that when temperature is hot, thermometers go up. When temperature is cold, thermometers go down.
Looking forward to next week....
In unit study, we will take a look at our predictions regarding Groundhog Day and see if we were right or wrong. We will continue to explore shadows and light.
In language arts, we will focus on the letter Dd. We will learn the sight words: dad, dog, had, was. We will read stories about ducks and rain as we discuss characters and setting.
In math, we will be learning about the measurement of length. We will learn to describe objects as longer and shorter. We will also learn about what objects or tools are used to measure length.
Have a great week!
