Week 14

This week in unit study we finished our unit on magnets.

In language arts, we focused on the letter Gg.  We learned the sight words: big, get, got.  We read books about the gingerbread man, girl, baby, pirate and bear.  We compared and contrasted these books and also practiced making predictions.

One of our favorite activities was making our own gingerbread houses!

In math we continued to practice our data collection and graphing skills.  Here we are graphing our favorite character from The Gingerbread Man.

In math small group, we had fun playing this game called decorate the tree.  It helped us practice subitizing and counting:

Looking forward to next week...

In unit study we will be learning the difference between needs and wants and acknowledging that people earn money to buy things they need and want.

In language arts, we will be focusing on the letter Jj.  We will learn the sight words: jump, just, little.  We will be reading books about trains as well as books about Christmas, Hannukah and Kwanzaa.  We will continue to practice making predictions.

In math, we will continue to learn about data collections (especially tally marks) and graphing.

Have a great week!
