Week 15

What a fun week before winter break!  In unit study we learned the difference between needs and wants.

In language arts, we focused on the letter Jj.  We read books about December holidays and trains.  We learned the sight words: just, jump, little.  We also continued to practice making predictions.  Here we are playing a fun game called "I have, who has" to practice letter names and sounds:

In math, we continued to work on data collection and tallying.

We made these adorable trains on Polar Express day:

And here we are on Polar Express day, hanging out by the CAES Express!

 What a great class!

Looking forward to the first week of January....

In unit study, we will be focusing on the season of Winter.

In language arts, we will be learning all about the letter Qq.  We will learn the sight words: run, runs, up.  We will be reading fiction and nonfiction books about winter and learning the difference between the two.

In math we will be learning all about ordinal numbers.

Have a great winter break!!
