Speaking of book characters, I forgot to post these cute bears last week! They dressed up for Read for the Record Day when we read The Bear Ate Your Sandwich.
In language arts this week, we continued learning about zoology (the study of animals). This week, we mainly focused on mammals. The students are so interested in animals! It's exciting to see them excited! We read and wrote about mammals all week. We also continued to work hard at reading in our independent levels.
In math, we reviewed all topics we've learned thus far. In small groups, we loved this game called Kings, where we must put cards in their correct order.
Friday was Grand Lunch Day. We had a lot of "grand" visitors stop by for lunch!
Looking forward to next week...
We will continue to study zoology by finishing our study of mammals, and beginning to learn about birds. We will read and write all about birds. In our small groups we will continue to focus on foundational reading skills. Please look for words or sounds to practice in your child's reading folder.
In math, we will be comparing numbers using the words: more, fewer, same. In our small groups, we will continue to work to build number sense.
Have a great week!
