Week 17/18

The past two weeks, we wrapped up our second quarter!  So proud of my super students!  They are excelling!

We put our counting skills to the test and made sticker-number pictures as I assessed numeracy in small groups.

In reading, I am so impressed with our white board skills!  As the "Morning Message Helper" and I are composing the morning message on the large chart paper, the other students are writing too on their white boards.  Then, they are circling Power Words and reading along with me.
Sometimes, we might forget how to spell a Power Word.  However, by now we know how to use our word wall.  All Power Words are expected to be spelled correctly if they are available in the room for reference.  Here are some students helping us find specific words for our morning message:

 Looking forward to next week...

In language arts/science research lab we will begin our next research lab....Ecology!  During the next nine weeks we will be learning all about different habitats and the organisms that live in them.

In math, we will be exploring temperature.  Students are asked to compare two objects and determine which is hotter and which is colder.

Have a great week!
