In unit study, we learned how to be a great student/classmate/citizen. Everyone must do his/her part!
In language arts, we continued our quick introduction to the alphabet and also learned about some of our reading stations. Here are some groups working on ipads:
Here are some students trying out the library/puppets station:
Also, ABC station:
We also started doing some small group activities such as ABC bingo:
Cover the picture that begins with this sound:
Memory with upper/lower case alphabet
One of our rotations is going to (my WONDERFUL assistant) Mrs. Myer's table to practice journal writing:
Another part of our rotation is doing seatwork independently.
In math this week we learned how to sort objects by color, size and shape. (unfortunately, I was so busy teaching that I forgot to take any pictures :( )
Looking forward....
Next week in unit study we will begin learning about fall. We will learn about the changes that are seen in autumn, what animals do in the fall and this signs of fall.
In language arts we will continue building our reading routine. We will keep quickly introducing a few letters of the alphabet as we continue to practice stations, writing and small group activities.
In math, we will complete our unit on sorting. We should all be able to sort at least one way independently as well as identify how a group is sorted.
Have a great week!!
