Welcome Back! Week 16

 It was nice to be back and see everyone's smiling faces again!  This week, in unit study we learned all about the season of winter.  To celebrate our learning, we made snowmen and winter trees.
 
 




 
We also learned about the weather in winter and why we have to dress warmer.  Here we are dressing people for the snow:
 
   

 In language arts, we focused on the letter Qq.  We learned the sight words: all, out, not.  We also read books about winter and made predictions.  In small group reading many groups learned how to "buddy read" to practice fluency. 
 

In math, we learned about ordinal numbers (first through tenth).  


Looking forward to next week....

In unit study we will complete our unit about winter.  We will concentrate on SNOW and winter activities.

In language arts, we will be focusing on the letter Uu.  We will learn the sight words: run, runs, up.  We will be reading non-fiction books about winter animals. 

In math, we will be focusing on recognizing and counting sets of the numbers 10-20.
