Week 10!

We had a great time at our field trip on Friday!  Thank you to all the parents who came and helped "herd the cats!" ;)

We had a simple short week before the field trip.

In unit study, we finished our unit about positional words.

In language arts we focused on the letter Dd.  We learned the sight words: do, to.  We read books about Mrs. McNosh and Mrs. Wishy Washy.  Finally, we continued to work on writing a complete sentence.

In math, we began our unit on fractions by learning about equal/unequal and fair shares/unfair shares.

Looking forward to next week.....

In unit study we will be learning about past/present and the First Thanksgiving.

In language arts, we will be focusing on the letter Cc.  We will learn the sight words: can, cat, come.  We will be reading books by Doreen Cronin and continue to make connections.  We will also begin to talk about writing notes/letters.

In math, we will be continuing to learn about fractions by describing equal, fair shares and 1/2 or 1/4 of an object or set of objects.  We are still concentrating on basics and "sharing" at this point.

Have a great week!
