Week 26

This week in unit study we spent time talking about the signs of spring and the changes in the weather and plants in springtime.

In math, we learned about each of the four coins.  We learned how to identify them, and how much they are worth:

Please give your child practice with this at home as well.  If they have a piggy bank, or a change jar, let them sort and count coins.  Ask them how they know which is which.

In small group, we played a game that helps us identify numbers and then put them in correct order:

In reading, we focused on the letter Yy.  We read lots of fictional stories about rabbits and St. Patrick's Day and discussed the difference between fiction and non-fiction.

Looking forward to next week...

In unit study, we will continue to learn about spring, particularly animals in the springtime.

In math, we will continue to learn about money by identifying the four coins and counting them.

In language arts, we will focus on the letter: Ww.  We will learn the sight words: was, where, down, will.  We will be reading fictional and non-fictional stories about ducks/chicks and birds.

Have a great week!
