We also began our animals unit. We began by learning that some animals look similar to adult animals and some look different. We tested our knowledge by finding our animal baby/adult match:
In language arts, we focused on the digraph sound "th." We learned the sight words: then, this, that, them, with. We also read both non-fiction and fiction books about space.
In math we finished our unit about addition, primarily focusing on addition using a number line.
We got to see a great performance of The Little Red Hen thank to our PTA. It is so nice to see live theater right in the comfort of our cafeteria!
Thursday was the beginning of our ABC countdown. On Aa Day, we made paper airplanes and had a fun flying contest outside:
We finished off the week with a visit to the Virginia Living Museum! This was also Bb Day (Be a Buddy) and we had lots of fun touring the museum with our buddies!
Looking forward to next week...
In unit study we will continue our animals unit. We will learn what animals need to live and how some animals (frogs, butterflies) change as they grow.
In math, we will begin to learn about subtraction.
In language arts we will focus on the short vowel sounds. We will review all sight words and read books about houses as we continue to practice asking questions.
Have a great week!
