Week 35

We continued our ABC countdown this week.  On "K" day, we showed kindness by brightening some staff members day.  We thought of people in our school who deserved a little recognition and made them posters to say thank you.

In math this week, we continued to study subtraction.  These students never cease to amaze me.  Here they are working their little brains to find different ways to break apart numbers.  I love the intent looks on their faces:

In language arts this week, we read books about transportation and vehicles.  We focused on understanding the difference between vowels and consonants, and continued to practice questioning.

In unit study, we learned about animal classification.  Then, we explored different types of animals: mammals, birds and fish.

Looking forward to next week...

In math we will practice addition and subtraction and understanding when to perform each operation.

In language arts, we will be reading books about pirates!

In unit study, we will continue to study different types of animals: insects, amphibians and reptiles.

Have a great week!
